A Glimpse Into the Future of Clean Energy and AI at Fusion Solar's Global Installer Summit
By Mark, CEO, Bloom Renewables
I’ve just returned from China, where I had the privilege of attending FusionSolar’s 2nd Global Installer Summit. First, a big thank you to Huawei for the invitation, this was more than just a professional gathering; it was a window into the future of energy and technology.
Huawei brought together some of the most forward-thinking minds in renewables, and what I witnessed was inspiring. The discussions were passionate and forward-looking, covering smart PV industry trends, installer strategies, innovative residential and C&I solutions, success stories, and marketing insights. Special recognition goes to Huawei for their incredible vision and relentless innovation.
China is a country of striking contrasts. One moment you’re strolling through ancient cobbled streets; the next, you’re gazing up at one of the world’s tallest buildings in a futuristic cityscape. But what impressed me most wasn’t the skyline, it was the silence. Nearly every vehicle is electric.
And the quiet revolution extends far beyond the roads. China is rolling out autonomous logistics at scale: self-driving loaders in quarries, AI-powered electric trucks in smart ports, and even autonomous vehicles handling parking and pickups. These aren’t concepts, they’re operational realities.
But what truly took my breath away, and perhaps a little unsettling, was the scale and speed of AI integration. Companies like Huawei are investing heavily in AI across communications, solar energy, battery technology, and consumer electronics. They’re not just improving products; they’re redefining entire systems.
This trip left me with a powerful impression: the future isn’t waiting. It’s arriving, fast. AI isn’t just assisting anymore; it’s starting to lead. That forces us to ask: what role will humans play in this new era? What skills must we cultivate, and what responsibilities must we rethink?
The pace of progress is breathtaking. The opportunities are incredible, but they come with real challenges. As the world divides into AI adopters, we risk not just economic gaps, but deep technological inequality.
We’re at a crossroads. The choices we make today, in technology, education, ethics, and governance, will shape the world for generations.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. More stories to come.
